Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to expedite this process.
Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals
Game launches, especially online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals PC players face significant delays due to lengthy shader compilation. Shaders are crucial programs managing visual elements like color and lighting in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various issues. Even with correct installation, many players encounter this problem.
A community-discovered workaround effectively resolves this:
- Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
- Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
- Set Lower Value: Set the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. Options are limited to 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest value to your VRAM.
This method significantly reduces shader compilation time, often to just a few seconds, and also resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.
While this workaround is effective, players may prefer to wait for a developer patch. NetEase has yet to officially address this issue. Until a permanent fix is released, this solution provides a practical alternative to avoid extended loading times.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
