In Metaphor: ReFantazio, alongside the protagonist, you'll encounter seven additional party members who will join you on your adventure and participate in combat. Gallica is one of the first characters you'll meet at the game's outset, but unlike others, she won't be as actively involved in battles.
Each of these party members will join on specific days triggered by story-related events. Being aware of when they join might reveal some surprises, so consider this a heads-up for potential spoilers.

Each Party Member & When They Join In Metaphor: ReFantazio
Every party member will awaken to their unique Archetype, which, once unlocked, can be utilized by any other party member. Initially, some characters will join without immediate combat control, but this changes as they awaken to their Archetypes before engaging in their first battle with you.
Storhl - Warrior
Storhl is your first companion to join, albeit not immediately combat-ready. He joins the protagonist on 6/5 during the Border Fort events but won't awaken to his Archetype until the next day at the Nord Mines on 6/6. Until his awakening, Storhl remains an AI-controlled member.
Grius
Grius joins the party post-Border Fort events but won't engage in battles until 6/6. Following Storhl's awakening, you can assign an Archetype to Grius, making him a regular party member, though without a personal awakening.
Hulkenberg - Knight
Hulkenberg begins interacting with your party on 6/10, but her full integration and awakening to her Archetype occur during the boss fight on 6/11.
Heismay - Thief
Heismay is your focus during the free time in Martira. On 7/4, after entering the town's main dungeon, you'll witness Heismay's awakening and subsequent party membership.
Junah - Masked Dancer
Junah, a recurring character throughout the game, officially joins your party after her awakening on 8/13.
Eupha - Summoner
Eupha offers some flexibility in her recruitment. During your free time on Viraga Island between 8/19-9/4, you can complete the Dragon Temple Dungeon. On the day you finish it, Eupha will join for the final boss, though you can only start building a Bond with her after the deadline.
Basilio - Berserker
Basilio awakens and joins the party during Saint's Day events on 9/11. However, you won't be able to utilize him in combat until the following day, should you choose to do so.
