Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Risk and Reward

Haunted Mirror in PhasmophobiaThe Haunted Mirror stands out as one of the safest Cursed Objects in Phasmophobia, offering significant advantages that outweigh the inherent risks. Its functionality remains consistent across game updates, making it a highly recommended item if encountered during an investigation.

The Mirror's primary function is to reveal the ghost's current preferred room or area. It provides a panoramic view of this location, significantly accelerating the ghost's discovery and allowing for strategic equipment placement before the investigation becomes perilous.

The Mirror typically appears either hanging on a wall (as seen in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor at its predetermined spawn point. Cursed Objects always spawn in the same location on a given map; the randomness lies in which object spawns.

To utilize the Mirror, simply pick it up and interact with it using the designated button (mouse or controller). Its reflection will display the ghost's favored room. However, on Professional difficulty and above, remember that the ghost's location can change after a certain time.

Caution is advised: prolonged observation of the Mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the Mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your current position. Therefore, use it when your sanity is high and ensure you understand the reflection's information.

Cursed Possessions, often called "Cursed Objects," are unique items randomly appearing on any map (though this can vary based on difficulty or Challenge Mode).

Unlike standard equipment, which aids in ghost location and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer strategic advantages or shortcuts at a considerably higher risk to your character's well-being.

The risk level associated with each Cursed Object varies, leaving the decision of whether to use them to the player(s). There's no penalty for avoiding them. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist in the game:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
