Xbox Game Pass Unveils Second Wave of Adds for January 2025

Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2: A Fresh Batch of Titles

Get ready for a wave of new gaming experiences! Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 lineup, boasting a diverse selection of titles across various genres. This announcement precedes Microsoft's Xbox Developer Direct on January 23rd, promising even more day-one Game Pass reveals, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a currently unannounced title.

The second wave kicks off on January 21st with the day-one release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Master the snowy slopes solo or compete with up to eight players in exhilarating cross-platform multiplayer.

January 22nd brings a flurry of additions:

  • Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering cooperative multiplayer fun as you collect adorable flying creatures.
  • Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a definitive 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
  • Capcom's Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console) launches on Game Pass Standard, immersing players in a unique Japanese-inspired action strategy game.
  • Magical Delicacy (Console), Tchia (Xbox Series X|S), and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also debut on Game Pass Standard on the 22nd.
  • Starbound (Cloud and Console) expands its Game Pass presence to Ultimate and Standard, having already launched on PC Game Pass.

The wave continues on January 28th with two day-one releases:

  • Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure from Yellow Brick Games, featuring a blend of magic and combat.
  • Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a thrilling third-person shooter and trap defense game supporting up to four players.

January 29th sees the arrival of Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, a poignant adventure game with stunning visuals.

A major addition on January 30th is the day-one release of Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, bringing the award-winning sniping action to occupied France, playable solo or in co-op.

Rounding out the month, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) launches day-one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on January 31st. This highly anticipated sequel to the acclaimed RPG places players in a compelling sci-fi world.

Finally, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on February 4th, taking players to a vibrant post-apocalyptic Hope County.

Remember, as new games arrive, others depart. On January 31st, the following titles will be leaving Game Pass: Anuchard, Broforce Forever, Darkest Dungeon, Death’s Door, Maquette, and Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem. All platforms are affected unless otherwise specified.
