Get ready for some snowy slopes! Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is hitting Xbox Game Pass on Tuesday, January 21st. While Microsoft's initial January 2025 Game Pass announcements were a bit light, the second half of the month is shaping up to be much more exciting.
The first half of January primarily saw some Ultimate-only games transition to the Standard tier. Notable exceptions were the addition of the original Diablo to PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 for Ultimate subscribers. Although Microsoft hasn't officially detailed the second wave of January 2025 Game Pass additions, we know at least one more exciting title is on its way.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders will be available as a day-one Game Pass title on January 21st. As with other recent day-one releases, it will initially be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. This thrilling skiing game offers both co-op and PvP modes, promising plenty of fun on January 21st.

But Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders isn't the only day-one Game Pass game arriving in the latter half of January 2025. Following a slower start to the month, the second half boasts three additional day-one releases alongside Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders. These include Eternal Strands (January 28th), Sniper Elite: Resistance (January 30th), and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (January 31st).
Among these new titles, Eternal Strands stands out. Developed by Yellow Brick Games, a studio led by BioWare veteran Mike Laidlaw, this action-adventure game has a strong Zelda feel. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can experience Eternal Strands and all the other new January 2025 additions without extra cost.
February 2025 currently looks relatively quiet for Game Pass. While Avowed is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on February 18th, the rest of the month's lineup remains a mystery. Until then, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, and the other day-one January 2025 releases.
