Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced
Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. Following the successful January 2023 and 2024 iterations, this year's Direct promises a fresh look at upcoming titles. The show begins at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
Confirmed Games:
The showcase will feature in-depth looks at three highly anticipated games:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is currently rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), first revealed in June 2023. A release date is expected.
Beyond the Confirmed Lineup:
While these three titles are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple games. The 2024 event, for instance, featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. It's likely the 2025 event will hold similar surprises.
