Skulls are earned by eliminating enemies in Multiplayer and Zombies modes, or by opening caches in Warzone. Collecting them requires physically walking over the dropped skull. The drop rate appears somewhat random, so keep an eye out after each elimination or cache opening. Listen for audio cues to help locate them.
Strategies for Rapid Skull Acquisition:
To maximize Skull acquisition, focus on maximizing eliminations or cache openings:
- Multiplayer: Kill Confirmed mode on smaller maps like Nuketown is highly effective.
- Zombies: Utilize the Rampage Inducer and focus on early rounds (before Round 6) for optimal Skull yield.
- Warzone: Resurgence mode, preferably Solos, allows for rapid cache opening.
Testing indicates that early-round Zombies with the Rampage Inducer provides the highest Skull-per-minute rate, followed by early Resurgence matches. However, cache availability diminishes in later Warzone matches, while Skull drop rates seem to decrease in Zombies after roughly 10 Skulls per match.
