In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a new attachment—the Buffer Weight Stock—is causing some weapons to become overpowered. However, obtaining and using it isn't straightforward. This guide explains how to unlock and equip it.
Unlocking the Buffer Weight Stock in Black Ops 6
Unlike most attachments earned through gameplay progression, the Buffer Weight Stock is unlocked via the "Hit List" event. Access the "Event" tab in the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer main menu. Locate the "Community" section; the Buffer Weight Stock will be listed there and automatically unlocked. The community goal of eight billion eliminations has already been met, so simply viewing the event page unlocks the attachment. Using it effectively is another matter.

Equipping the Buffer Weight Stock in Black Ops 6
The Buffer Weight Stock's functionality is limited to three weapons: the XM4 Assault Rifle, the DM-10 Marksman Rifle, and the XMG Light Machine Gun. This restriction prevents the attachment from dominating gameplay. However, for those three weapons, it provides a significant accuracy boost.
To equip it, simply navigate to the Gunsmith for your chosen weapon (XM4, DM-10, or XMG). The Buffer Weight Stock is listed under the Stock attachments and can be added to your loadout as you would any other attachment. Once equipped, you're ready to utilize its accuracy benefits and continue progressing through the Hit List event rewards.
