Obtaining the Music Box
Similar to other cursed items in Phasmophobia, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is entirely random; luck is the key factor. Only one Music Box can spawn per game. Once located, interact with it to pick it up and activate it with another interaction.
Using the Music Box
Several strategies involve the Music Box. Upon activation, it plays a tune. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its proximity. Within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. You can strategically place the activated Box on the ground to lure the ghost. The Box automatically stops playing after the song concludes. Note that holding the active Music Box depletes your sanity.
Triggering a Hunt with the Music Box
The Music Box can initiate either a cursed or standard hunt, depending on certain conditions:
- Throwing the active Box (not placing it down).
- Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Box.
- The ghost approaching the Box for over five seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Box.
For optimal use, carry additional tools like Smudge Sticks to increase your survival chances during a hunt. This allows you to identify the ghost type or complete other objectives.
