Stellar Blade's recent update, boasting a highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking glitches. However, developer Shift Up is actively working on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Upcoming Hotfix
Patch 1.009, while delivering exciting new content, also caused significant problems. Players report being softlocked in a main quest within an earlier dungeon, unable to progress. Further issues include game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie function and improper rendering of new cosmetic items on Eve.
Shift Up advises against forcing quest progression. They recommend waiting for the hotfix to avoid potential permanent softlocks.
NieR: Automata DLC and Enhanced Photo Mode
The 1.009 update includes the much-anticipated NieR: Automata collaboration DLC. This collaboration, born from the mutual respect and creative synergy between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, offers 11 exclusive items. Players can find Emil, the NieR character, within Stellar Blade's world to acquire these rewards.
The addition of Photo Mode fulfills a long-standing player request. This feature allows players to pose Eve and her companions for customized screenshots. New photo challenges further enhance this functionality.
Complementing the Photo Mode, four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) altering Tachy Mode's appearance have been added. A "No Ponytail" option provides additional character customization. Other improvements include lip-sync for six additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
