Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, is set to celebrate its anniversary before its servers shut down. But is there really cause for celebration when a game is ending its run so prematurely?

When Will Star Wars: Hunters Shut Down?

The game's servers will officially power down on October 1st, 2025, a mere nine months after its launch. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Zynga's Final Act

Developer and publisher Zynga will release one last content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, free of charge. In-game purchases will be disabled on the same day. Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers close, and existing season events will be rerun. Players are urged to spend any remaining Crystals as no refunds will be offered.

A Predictable Demise?

While unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters may not have been entirely surprising. Initially announced in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and limited beta testing (SEA and ANZAC regions only). This delayed launch, coupled with a lack of major console support and a generally tepid reception, likely contributed to its downfall.

Even the game's design choices seem questionable. Instead of leveraging the iconic characters of the Star Wars universe, Hunters opted for generic original characters, potentially missing a significant opportunity.

A Final Farewell?

If you're curious to experience the game one last time before it disappears, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
