The story, revealed by narrative designer Zaire Lanier, follows Hazel as she searches for her mother after a devastating hurricane. This quest leads her to uncover her own magical heritage and a world teeming with fantastical beings from Southern legends. The game's setting encompasses a diverse range of Southern landscapes, from flooded plains to Appalachian mountains.
Hazel's journey begins with a fateful encounter with Catfish, a colossal talking creature, who reveals her destiny as a Weaver – a wielder of magical powers capable of manipulating the threads of fate.
Master the Art of Weaving: Combat and Exploration
Gameplay revolves around the unique mechanic of "Weaving," using threads to connect and manipulate the world. Combat involves strategic use of spells like "Push," "Pull," and "Weave" to gain a tactical edge against corrupted creatures known as Haints. Hazel's tools – a spindle, weaving hooks, and a distaff – provide diverse combat options.
