A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK.
The demo, announced via X/Twitter, offers a taste of the full game's freeroam and combat, allowing players to explore parts of Honolulu and Madlantis – areas not accessible early in the main game. Players can experiment with the Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles, battle powerful enemies, engage in ship and deck battles within the Pirates' Coliseum, utilize new customization options, and even enjoy karaoke with three selectable songs. Progress from the demo, however, will not carry over to the full game.
The full Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii releases February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (these platforms will not receive the demo). The game follows Goro Majima's amnesiac pirate adventure across Hawaii.
The October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer highlighted ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at deeper connections to the main series. Expect a playtime of approximately 15-18 hours, significantly longer than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. A Kiryu Kazuma costume is available for players who subscribe to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
