A "Surprising" New Like a Dragon Game
Another Unexpected Twist?
During day three of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, RGG Studio hosted "Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience," featuring Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto, Ichiban Kasuga's voice actor Kazuhiro Nakaya, and host Linda “VampyBitMe” Le.
Studio representatives teased the upcoming game, stating, "We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised." This was reported by @TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter, who confirmed it's a new addition to the Like a Dragon franchise.
Given the series' already surprising shift from action beat 'em up to JRPG with Like a Dragon 7, the upcoming "surprise" could be anything. Possibilities range from a rhythm game based on the karaoke mini-game, a spin-off featuring other series characters, or even a remake or sequel to past spin-offs like Yakuza: Dead Souls or the Japan-exclusive Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan.
