Rust's Massive Update Introduces Enhanced Cooking and Farming Mechanics

Rust's latest update, "The Crafting Update," significantly expands the game's crafting and survival mechanics. A new culinary workbench lets players grill chicken legs and even enjoy them with Siberian vodka! Recipes are required for cooking, and successfully prepared food offers valuable stat boosts and gameplay modifiers.

Domesticating chickens is now possible with the addition of chicken coops. Players must carefully manage their chicks' hunger, thirst, love, and sunlight needs to ensure their survival. Chicken meat spoils over time, requiring refrigeration for preservation; food items now display clear expiration timers.

Sweetening the survival experience are wild beehives found in trees. Players can harvest honeycombs, but must carefully relocate them to player-built hives crafted from wooden boxes. Harvesting requires protective suits, water, or flamethrowers to avoid aggressive bees. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade, unleashes three swarms of bees upon impact.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing separate tech trees for plumbing and electricity. This allows for the construction of automated systems and even entire factories. Finally, premium servers have been implemented, accessible only to players with a Rust inventory valued at $15 or more. This aims to create a more positive gaming experience by deterring cheaters and disruptive players.
