The Asus ROG 9 series of phones are now available for pre-order
Shipping is expected in mid to-late December, just in time for Christmas
It boasts powerful specs, but will it be a stocking stuffer or space-taker?
If you're looking to grab some hardware for Christmas or have a particularly pesky person to make a purchase for (alliteration intended), then today's latest may catch your eye. And that's because the hotly anticipated Asus ROG 9 series of phones has now opened pre-orders!
Expected to ship in mid-to-late December (just in time for Christmas, ideally), the Asus ROG 9 boasts some serious power inside it. Using the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, it features an Oryon CPU and Adreno GPU. The phone will also come in multiple versions, suitable for (mostly) every budget.
At the high end for the ROG9 PRO Edition 24G/1T, you'll be shelling out £1299.99, while on the lower end for the ROG Phone 9 12/256 Black you'll be paying approximately £949.99. Naturally, there are plenty of optional extras from cooling-enhancing cases to antibacterial screen protectors suitable for the germophobes out there.

The power of the sun—a robust CPU, in the palm of your hand
Perhaps the biggest headlining feature however is that already quite familiar AI. The X Sense 3.0 feature can auto-collect and upgrade your items, on the higher end, while AI noise cancellation and automatic image capture complete the features.
Suffice it to say, when it comes to features the ROG 9 is definitely innovative. But will that be enough to convince doubters? Check out the full specifications on the official Asus website to find out for yourself!
Either way, it's boasting a huge amount of components, impressive numbers and the ever-powerful AI buzzword. So if you're affluent and have a gamer in your life, you're probably already intrigued. But for those of us without the funds, or who don't need 120+ FPS for Clash of Clans, this may be another new, shiny toy that simply passes us by.
