Rauora is the new Rainbow Six Siege operator

The final day of the Six Invitational is always a big day for Ubisoft and Rainbow Six Siege announcements, and this year was no exception. A highlight was the reveal of Rauora, the newest Attack operator hailing from New Zealand.

Rauora's unique ability centers around the DOM launcher, a deployable bulletproof shield specifically designed for doorways. While resistant to bullets, it's vulnerable to explosives. A clever twist is the trigger mechanism; friendly fire opens the shield instantly (one second), while enemy fire takes a significantly longer three seconds—a potentially game-changing difference, especially in defuser situations.

Adding to the excitement, Rauora introduces the Reaper MK2, a new fully automatic pistol equipped with a red dot sight and a high-capacity magazine. Players can also choose between the M249 LMG or the 417 marksman rifle as alternative primary weapons.

Rauora will be playable on the test servers starting next week, with a wider release on the live servers to follow shortly after.
