Potential Release Date Leak for Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Rumors suggest Pokémon Legends: Z-A may launch on August 15, 2025, following a brief listing on Amazon UK in early January 2025. This aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.
Initially unveiled during the 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is anticipated as a sequel to the exploration-focused Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Unlike previous entries, Arceus prioritized open-world exploration and collection over traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League. Since its announcement, official details have been scarce.
The Amazon UK leak, quickly retracted, fueled speculation about the August release. The placeholder date was swiftly changed back to December 31st, but the August 15th date fits the previously announced timeframe.
February 2025 Confirmation Possible
The official release date might be revealed during the 2025 Pokémon Day event, scheduled for February 27th (corroborated by recent Pokémon GO datamining). This event could also showcase gameplay footage, currently absent from official marketing.
Beyond the release date, fans eagerly await a gameplay reveal. Pokémon Legends: Z-A, initially announced as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, will also be playable on the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to confirmed backward compatibility. While past main series titles have featured paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received one free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
