Pokémon TCG Vending Machines: A Fan's Guide

Pokémon fans are buzzing about the Pokémon vending machines popping up across the US! These aren't your average snack dispensers; they offer a convenient way to grab Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products. Let's explore what these machines offer and how to find one near you.

What are Pokémon Vending Machines?

These automated machines dispense a variety of Pokémon TCG merchandise. While not budget-friendly, they offer a quick and easy way to purchase cards, similar to buying a drink. The current US models, initially tested in Washington in 2017, feature touchscreens for browsing and selecting items, then checkout via credit card. Expect charming Pokémon animations throughout the process! Digital receipts are emailed, but returns aren't accepted.

What do they sell?

Primarily, US Pokémon vending machines stock Pokémon TCG products: Booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and other related items. Availability varies; while some machines may sell out of popular items quickly, others might have a wider selection of older products. Unlike some Pokémon Center machines in Washington State, these generally don't stock plushies, apparel, or video games.

Finding a Machine Near You

The official Pokémon Center website provides a comprehensive list of active Pokémon TCG vending machines in the US. Currently, machines are located across several states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin. Check the website for specific store locations within your state. Note that distribution isn't uniform; machines tend to be concentrated in specific cities and partner grocery stores such as Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Frys, Kroger, Pick ‘n Save, Safeway, Smith’s, and Tom Thumb. You can also follow the list on the Pokémon Center website for updates on new machine locations.
