Mastering the Pokémon Unite Ranking System: A Comprehensive Guide

Pokémon Unite, the popular mobile and Nintendo Switch game, features a competitive ranked system where players battle using their favorite Pokémon. This guide breaks down the ranks and how to climb them.

Pokémon Unite Ranks

Six ranks exist in Pokémon Unite, each subdivided into multiple classes for incremental progression. Higher ranks typically have more classes than lower ones. Points are earned exclusively through ranked matches, not quick or standard matches.

The Ranks:

  • Beginner (3 Classes)
  • Great (4 Classes)
  • Expert (5 Classes)
  • Veteran (5 Classes)
  • Ultra (5 Classes)
  • Master

Getting Started:

To participate in ranked matches, players must reach Trainer Level 6, achieve a Fair Play score of 80, and own five Pokémon licenses. Beginners start at, unsurprisingly, the Beginner Rank.

Performance Points and Diamond Points:

Performance Points (PP) are earned per ranked match, influenced by individual performance, sportsmanship, participation, and win streaks (5-15 PP per match, plus bonuses). Each rank has a PP cap. Once the cap is reached, players earn one Diamond Point (DP) per match, crucial for rank advancement. PP caps per rank are:

  • Beginner: 80 PP
  • Great: 120 PP
  • Expert: 200 PP
  • Veteran: 300 PP
  • Ultra: 400 PP
  • Master: N/A

Rank Advancement and Rewards:

Four Diamond Points (DP) equal a class upgrade. Reaching the maximum class in a rank promotes the player to the next rank's first class. Players gain one DP per ranked win and lose one per loss. Maxed PP also yields one DP per match.

End-of-season rewards include Aeos Tickets (more for higher ranks), used in the Aeos Emporium. Specific rank rewards also rotate seasonally.

Conquer the ranks, earn rewards, and prove your Pokémon Unite prowess!
