Sony's popular PlayStation console themes for PS5 are disappearing! The limited-time PSOne, PS2, PS3, and PS4 themes will be unavailable starting February 1st, 2025. However, Sony has confirmed their return in the coming months, bringing welcome relief to nostalgic PS5 owners.
In a recent announcement, Sony expressed gratitude for the positive reception to the themes, stating they are working to reinstate these designs.

Unfortunately, the company also revealed that no further themes are currently planned for the PS5. This announcement has been met with disappointment from fans who have long desired more customization options.
"While we're not planning additional themes, we're thrilled to continue celebrating classic PlayStation hardware with you all," Sony stated.
The temporary themes, released in honor of PlayStation's 30th anniversary on December 3, 2024, allowed PS5 users to personalize their console interfaces with iconic imagery and sounds from previous generations. The PSOne theme featured the console itself in the background, the PS2 its unique menu design, the PS3 its wave background, and the PS4 a similar wave pattern. Each theme also incorporated the corresponding console's startup sounds. The lack of further theme additions is disappointing, especially considering the feature was present on previous PlayStation consoles.
