Osmos, the acclaimed cell-absorbing puzzle game, returns to Android! Previously removed due to playability issues stemming from outdated porting technology, it's back with a completely revamped port from developer Hemisphere Games.
For those unfamiliar, Osmos is a unique, award-winning puzzle where players absorb smaller organisms while avoiding becoming prey themselves. Its simple yet engaging gameplay made it a hit upon its 2010 release, but Android users have been unable to enjoy it until now.
Hemisphere Games explains in a blog post that the original Android port, created with Apportable, became unmaintainable following Apportable's closure. This resulted in Osmos' removal from Google Play due to incompatibility with modern Android systems (it only ran on obsolete 32-bit systems). The new port addresses these issues, offering a fully playable experience on contemporary Android devices.
A Cellular Masterpiece
