Rumor: Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025

A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection may be making its way to the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The same source claims a 2025 release window for these versions of the six-game compilation. This follows Microsoft's recent push to bring more first-party titles to non-Xbox platforms.

Microsoft's multi-platform initiative, launched in February 2024, initially included Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, while not developed by a Microsoft subsidiary, is also considered part of this shift due to its initial Xbox exclusivity. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 joined the multi-platform lineup in October 2024, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle slated for a PS5 release in Spring 2025.

NateTheHate further alleges that Microsoft Flight Simulator, potentially MFS 2024 (released November 19, 2024), is also planned for release on PS5 and Switch 2 sometime in 2025.

More Xbox Games to Go Multi-Platform in 2025

This news is supported by another insider, Jez Corden, who tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be released on PS5 and Switch 2. Corden has previously stated his belief that the era of exclusive Xbox titles is over.

The future multi-platform expansion of the Call of Duty franchise is also highly anticipated. Microsoft's ten-year agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, announced in late 2022, is likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 before launching any titles.
