Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Familiar and Unexpected Mobs
Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, Lego has announced two new sets offering glimpses into the film's action-packed scenes and showcasing key characters. As reported by GamesRadar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and the Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego lineup, incorporating minifigures of Jack Black's Steve and Jason Momoa's Garbage Man.
The $49.99 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring (491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle featuring Momoa's character facing off against a zombie riding a giant chicken. The scale remains unclear, but the chicken-zombie combination is notably taller than the Garbage Man minifigure. The set also includes Steve, Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.
The $69.99 Ghast Balloon Village Attack set (555 pieces) introduces the Nether's Ghast to the overworld, setting the stage for a large-scale village battle. This set includes a villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's theatrical release on April 4th. The film's September reveal sparked initial criticism regarding the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world, a reaction acknowledged by the film's director and producer in a November interview with IGN. Despite the initial backlash, they expressed confidence in their vision.
