Unlock Lasher, a Powerful New Card in Marvel Snap!
The Marvel Rivals season in Marvel Snap is winding down, but a fantastic freebie awaits: Lasher, a holdover from October's "We Are Venom" season. This symbiote card is available through the returning High Voltage game mode, but is it worth the effort? Let's find out.
Lasher's Abilities and Synergies
Lasher is a 2-power, 2-cost card with a potent ability: "Activate: Afflict an enemy card here with negative Power equal to this card’s Power." Essentially, he inflicts -2 power on an opponent's card unless boosted. This opens up exciting possibilities given Marvel Snap's various buffing options.
Cards like Namora can significantly increase Lasher's power, potentially turning him into a game-changer. Combining him with Wong or Odin further amplifies his impact, creating massive power swings. He also pairs exceptionally well with the season pass card, Galacta. Remember, as an "Activate" card, playing Lasher by turn 5 maximizes his effect.
Optimal Lasher Decks
While Lasher's meta position is still developing, he shines in buff-heavy decks. Here are some examples:
Silver Surfer Deck:
This deck, typically lacking two-cost slots, benefits greatly from Lasher's late-game activation. The deck includes: Nova, Forge, Lasher, Okoye, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Nakia, Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, and Galacta. While high-cost Series 5 cards dominate this list (Red Guardian, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Galacta), substitutions are possible for cards like Juggernaut or Polaris. Lasher serves as a third target for Forge, often paired with Brood or Sebastian Shaw, especially after playing Galacta on turn 4. With Galacta's buff, Lasher becomes a highly effective 10-power card.
High-Cost Buff Deck:
This deck focuses on maximizing buffs with cards like Galacta, Gwenpool, and Namora to enhance Lasher and other high-cost cards. It includes: Agony, Zabu, Lasher, Psylocke, Hulk Buster, Jeff!, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Spider, Galacta, Gwenpool, Symbiote Spider-Man, and Namora. This deck is extremely expensive, requiring several Series 5 cards. Jeff! can be replaced with Nightcrawler. Zabu and Psylocke help deploy high-cost cards early, while Symbiote Spider-Man reactivates Namora. Jeff! and Hulk Buster provide backup.
Is the Grind Worth It?
Considering Marvel Snap's increasing card costs, Lasher is a valuable addition if you have the time to invest in High Voltage. The mode offers various rewards, making the grind worthwhile. While not a guaranteed meta staple, Lasher's potential, similar to Agony, ensures his relevance in several meta decks. So, jump into High Voltage and claim your Lasher!
