Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Launch Featuring the Fantastic Four
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This expanded offering is a direct result of the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a complete team, rather than staggering their releases.
This supersized season includes a wealth of new content:
- Three New Maps: Explore iconic New York City locations, including the Sanctum Sanctorum (available at launch), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
- New Game Mode: The Sanctum Sanctorum will be the setting for the debut of the new Doom Match mode.
- The Fantastic Four Arrive: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) join the roster at launch, with The Thing and Human Torch slated for the mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
The developers have confirmed that Season 1 will be significantly larger than usual, lasting approximately three months with a major update midway through. While the impact of this on future seasons remains unclear, it’s likely that the pattern of adding two characters per season will continue.
While the absence of Blade in this initial launch disappointed some fans, the sheer volume of new content, maps, and game modes in Season 1, along with the promise of future additions, ensures that Marvel Rivals players have plenty to look forward to.
