Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter, features a competitive mode with seasonal rank resets. This guide details the rank reset mechanics, timing, rank tiers, and season duration.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, a player ending the season at Diamond I will begin the next season at Gold II. Players at Bronze III, the lowest rank, remain there after the reset.

Rank Reset Timing

The competitive rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1, commencing January 10th (at the time of writing), will serve as the benchmark for future reset timings.

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through ranks is based on accumulating 100 points per tier. The tiers are:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All ranks. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Duration

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to span approximately three months. New seasons introduce fresh content, including new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time for rank advancement.
