Marvel Reportedly Pauses Work on Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. TV Shows

Author : Grace Mar 04,2025

Marvel Television has reportedly placed three shows – Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. – on hold. Sources at Deadline indicate these projects weren't officially greenlit and might still be produced, but Marvel has prioritized other ventures.

This strategic shift coincides with Marvel Studios' upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Brad Winderbaum, head of streaming and TV at Marvel Studios, recently announced the exploration of reuniting the street-level heroes of The Defenders (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist).

Marvel Studios is now developing more shows than it's producing, reflecting a cautious approach as Winderbaum stated to Screen Rant last year: "We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”

The Nova news is particularly unexpected, especially considering former Criminal Minds showrunner Ed Bernero was confirmed as writer and showrunner just two months ago, with Nova slated for Disney+. For more details on Nova, see IGN's comprehensive article.

Strange Academy, anticipated to focus on the magic school founded by Doctor Strange with Wong as headmaster, is also affected. Information regarding Terror, Inc. remains scarce.

Confirmed Marvel TV release dates include: Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+, March 4th), Ironheart (June 24th), and Wonder Man (December). Following Captain America: Brave New World, three MCU films are scheduled for this year: Thunderbolts (May) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
