Mai Shiranui Sparks Massive Interest in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 enthusiasts are flocking back to the game to test out the newly introduced fighter, Mai Shiranui, from the iconic Fatal Fury series. This latest addition marks a significant milestone for Capcom's acclaimed fighting game, which, as of December 31, 2024, has impressively sold 4.4 million copies worldwide. Despite some fan feedback suggesting a lack of content, the recent introduction of Mai Shiranui has sparked renewed interest and excitement among the player base.

Mai Shiranui, the third fighter to join the roster in the second season, has undeniably boosted the game's popularity. On the day of her release, Steam's peak concurrent players soared to over 63,000—a significant jump from the previous peak of 24,000 to 27,000 players and the highest since May 2024. This surge in player numbers showcases the impact of new content on the game's community engagement.

Players with a Battle Pass can access Mai Shiranui, allowing them to deepen their connection with her in World Tour mode. Here, they can learn her unique moves and test them out in the Battle Hub. Additionally, a second costume inspired by her appearance in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has been added, enhancing the customization options available to players.

In a special treat for fans, the Battle Hub is currently hosting Professor Woshige, a legendary developer in the fighting game community, as a temporary guest until March 10. This provides players with a unique opportunity to experience his character. Furthermore, Capcom has enriched the game with new Master League ranks and rewards, keeping the competitive scene vibrant and engaging.

To showcase Mai's impressive techniques, Capcom has released a captivating trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from this dynamic new addition to Street Fighter 6.
