A premature announcement from the official Pokémon GO Saudi Arabia Twitter account, quickly deleted, revealed the upcoming arrival of Dynamax Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno in Dynamax Raids. The event is reportedly scheduled for January 20th to February 3rd. This would mark the first appearance of Dynamax legendary Pokémon in the game, following the September 2024 introduction of Dynamax Pokémon.
The Kanto legendary birds remain incredibly popular within the Pokémon community. Pokémon GO previously featured these birds (and their Shiny variants) in raids, and the Galarian forms were introduced to Daily Incense in 2023 (with Shiny variants available since October 2024). The leaked information suggests a new iteration of the Kanto trio is on the horizon.
The addition of these Dynamax legendary birds could significantly boost the popularity of Max Raids, which have faced criticism from some players due to their difficulty, particularly the requirement of 40 players for successful completion. The difficulty of these new Dynamax legendary raids remains to be seen. The leak suggests the potential for more iconic legendary Pokémon to receive Dynamax forms in future Max Raids, mirroring the Dynamax forms of Mewtwo and Ho-Oh seen in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
