Kicking off the Naruto: Path of series is Naruto: Konoha Ninpōchō, a 2003 release exclusive to Japan's Bandai WonderSwan Color handheld console. The WonderSwan, itself a 1999 release, never saw international distribution, limiting this game's reach. The game's narrative centers on the Land of Waves arc, augmented by additional missions featuring Team 7.

Another Japan-only title, Naruto: Konoha Senki, launched in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance, courtesy of Tomy. This game adapts the first 70 anime episodes, covering the Land of Waves and Chūnin Exams arcs. Initially, players control only Team 7 and Kakashi, with additional characters unlockable upon progression.
