Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving Henry ill-equipped. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is achievable. This guide details how to obtain this valuable weapon.
After separating from Hans, gaining access to the wedding requires securing a blacksmith or miller position. While the blacksmith job isn't mandatory for wedding attendance, its map marker conveniently leads to the bow's location. If you choose the blacksmith path, remember to also seek out the hermit's sword later.
The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue concludes. West of Troskowitz, follow the road north. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, veer right towards a cluster of trees. A small training area, easily overlooked, is concealed within.
This area contains a target riddled with arrows (free ammo!), and to the right, the Dogwood Village Bow rests against a tree trunk. Additional resources, such as brew and mushrooms, are also available. Once collected, resume your quest.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, the Dogwood Village Bow isn't the most powerful ranged weapon. Considering its proximity to the free bow, purchasing it is inefficient. However, Vitek offers superior weapons, and alchemy (herb gathering and potion brewing) provides a lucrative income stream.
Regardless of your weapon choice, having a ranged option is advantageous, especially with fixed difficulty settings. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat, similar to its predecessor, may not appeal to all players. For those who prefer ranged combat, this bow is a valuable asset.
After forging a sword (for the blacksmith path), save your game. Otherwise, proceed to the miller to continue the main quest. With a ranged weapon, navigating Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's challenges becomes significantly easier.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
