Eerie Worlds: A Tactical CCG Featuring Global Folklore Monsters
Rifts are rarely good news in gaming, but Avid Games has embraced the chaos in its highly anticipated game, Eerie Worlds. This tactical collectible card game (CCG) follows the success of Cards, the Universe and Everything, offering a fun and educational experience focused on monsters from worldwide mythology and folklore.
Eerie Worlds boasts a visually diverse roster of monsters, each meticulously researched and detailed. Expect encounters with creatures from various cultures, including Japanese Yokai (like Jikininki and Kuchisake-onna), Slavic monsters (such as Vodyanoy and Psoglav), and many more familiar figures like Bigfoot, Mothman, and El Chupacabra. Each card includes an informative description, enriching the gameplay with knowledge.
The game features four Alliances (Grimbald, Zerrofel, Rivin, and Synnig) and multiple Hordes, adding significant strategic depth. Monsters may share certain properties within a Horde but differ in others, creating complex tactical possibilities.
Your monster collection, known as the Grimoire, can be upgraded by merging duplicate cards. The game launches with 160 base cards, with many more accessible through merging and further additions planned for the near future.
Avid Games plans to release two more Hordes in the coming months, ensuring continued engagement and replayability.
Gameplay involves constructing a deck of nine monster cards and one world card. Battles consist of nine 30-second turns, demanding strategic decisions regarding mana usage, synergy exploitation, and more.
