Embarking on the side quest "A Good Scrub" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can lead you down a path filled with intriguing bathhouse-related missions. One of these tasks involves finding an item infested with fleas for Betty, which can be quite the challenge. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate this quest and locate the flea-ridden item.
Initiate 'A Good Scrub'
Your journey begins with a conversation with the innkeeper in Kuttenberg about potential work, which directs you to Betty, the owner of one of the city's two bathhouses. You'll find Betty's bathhouse in the southeast part of Kuttenberg. Inform her that you're looking for work, and she'll task you with heading to Grund to find Matsek.
Upon meeting Matsek, you'll notice his apprehension about being seen with the girls he's supposed to bring to the bathhouse. To resolve this, enter the courtyard where Matsek is and locate the three girls seated at a table. Introduce yourself as someone working for Betty and escort them back to the city.
Promote the Bathhouse
After successfully bringing the girls back, Betty will ask for your help in promoting the bathhouse to attract more customers. Collaborate with her to craft a compelling spiel, then head out to shout it at the grain market, horse market, vintners' street, and merchants' street. Remember, this promotion must occur during the day, so if it's evening, wait until morning to proceed.
Clean Up and Complete 'A Good Scrub'
Your next task is to clean the bathhouse before the alderman arrives for inspection. Timely completion of these tasks is crucial; failure to do so will result in the bathhouse being shut down, preventing you from picking up the subsequent quest, "Ill Repute," from Betty.
Finding Fleas for 'Ill Repute' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Once the inspection is passed, engage Betty in conversation about the bathhouse's ongoing issues. She'll reveal that the council is deciding on the primary bathhouse of the city, and your task is to make the councillor abandon the competing bathhouse. Start by gathering information from Meaty Mary, Katcha, and Little Lida about the councillor's dislikes.
To sabotage the competing bathhouse, you'll need Chamomile Brew to spike the wine cask on its second floor. Additionally, Lida will only disclose that the councillor favors fragrant oils if you gift her a noblewoman's dress, obtainable from a tailor. You can further disrupt their operations by accessing the third floor, lockpicking a cabinet, and stealing the oils.
For the flea-infested item, Katcha mentions that the bathhouse once had a flea problem. To find this item, head to the east gate of Kuttenberg City. There, you'll discover a small camp of beggars. Search the sacks in this camp to uncover a flea-infested blanket, the item you need for the quest.
With the flea-infested blanket in hand, return to the bathhouse and enter the room where you previously added Chamomile Brew to the wine. When no one is watching, interact with the baskets in the room and introduce the fleas into both Councillor Naaz's laundry basket and the clean laundry basket.
If you're unable to find the flea-infested item, remember that completing just one of the three sabotage tasks is sufficient to make the councillor leave the competing bathhouse, allowing you to complete the quest and proceed to other adventures like "Axe from the Lake."
