Fabled Game Studio Is Making Pirates Outlaws 2, The Sequel To Their Hit Roguelike Deckbuilder

Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage – A Roguelike Deck-Builder Sets Sail in 2025

Fabled Game Studio's highly anticipated sequel to their 2019 hit, Pirates Outlaws, is on the horizon. Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage promises to deliver the same addictive roguelike deck-building experience, but with significant enhancements. The full release is slated for 2025 on Android, iOS, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

An open beta test is currently underway on Steam (October 25th-31st), with mobile platforms to follow. Before you embark on this new nautical adventure, let's explore what's new.

What's New in Pirates Outlaws 2?

This sequel introduces a new protagonist with a backstory set years after the original game. Players will begin with pre-built decks and unique ability cards, but the enhancements don't stop there.

Key additions include:

  • Companions: Introduce unique card abilities to your deck.
  • Card Fusion: Combine three identical cards to create more powerful options.
  • Evolution Tree: Customize your deck's progression through a branching upgrade system. Previously discarded cards now have potential for improvement.
  • Relic System Overhaul: Relics are no longer guaranteed after each battle. They'll be found in markets, after boss fights, and during special events.
  • Countdown Battle System: A new combat mechanic impacts enemy turn order. The "End Turn" button is replaced with a "Redraw" action.
  • Enhanced Armor and Shield System: A revamped defensive system adds strategic depth.

Are You Ready to Set Sail?

Despite the numerous improvements, the core gameplay loop remains intact. Players will still build decks, navigate treacherous seas, and conquer the Arena and Campaign modes. Familiar features such as ammo management, melee/ranged/skill card combinations, curses, and diverse enemy types return.
