Elden Ring Nightreign: Beware Fake Test Invitation Scams

Author : Carter Feb 24,2025

Bandai Namco is sending out emails inviting participants to the closed beta test of Elden Ring: Nightreign, scheduled for February 14-17, 2025. Selected players will be among the first to experience the game's three-person cooperative mode.

However, due to the game's popularity, fraudulent invitations are circulating. Reports indicate scammers are sending emails mimicking official Bandai Namco notifications, containing links to fake websites designed to resemble Steam. These malicious links compromise player accounts upon login. Some players have even received these fraudulent messages from compromised friend accounts. While some victims have successfully recovered their accounts through Steam support, caution is paramount.

Exercise extreme caution with any suspicious links and always verify the authenticity of the sender. When in doubt, consult official Bandai Namco channels and avoid clicking on dubious links.

A noteworthy change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging system. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for players to send or read messages effectively. Therefore, the feature has been temporarily disabled for the beta.
