EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes
EA Vancouver has dropped Patch 1.18 for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking). Three additional fighter alter egos are also included, though their identities remain undisclosed.
The update addresses player concerns following the game's October 2023 release, where the initial fighter roster drew criticism. EA Vancouver's commitment to expanding the roster continues, achieving 98% parity with current UFC top ten rankings.
Beyond the new fighter additions, Patch 1.18 includes several refinements:
- Gameplay Adjustment: The stamina cost of the muscle modifier has been reduced from 3.125x to 2.5x.
- Bug Fixes: Corrected translation errors in multiple languages, resolved a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang match result display issue, and updated Stipe and Jones' UFC 309 portraits to reflect updated glove designs.
- New Content: The in-game store now features a "Sort by Release Series" option, and assorted vanity rewards have been added.

Furthermore, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers gain access to EA Sports UFC 5 via EA Play starting January 14th. Note that this is an Ultimate tier benefit, not available on the standard tier.
