Acquire Your Pet
Upon launching Diablo 4 Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town's Wardrobe. Claim your pet! While combat-ineffective, your pet efficiently gathers gold and materials, freeing you to focus on combat and loot acquisition.
Recruit Your Mercenaries
Vessel of Hatred expansion owners should visit the Den to recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can utilize two, simplifying leveling and combat while fostering Rapport for enhanced rewards.
Conquer the Seasonal Questline
Begin on Normal difficulty. Follow the green leaf-marked seasonal questline. This introduces new mechanics (Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, Witch powers). While relatively short, it includes puzzles and primarily involves Headhunt zone Favor farming. This is also the optimal method for reaching level 60. Repeatedly defeat Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Class Power
Previously completed class-specific priority quests are now transferable. Log in with a pre-existing character (on the Eternal realm) who has completed these quests. Your new Season 7 character will automatically unlock class power upon reaching the required level.
Dominate Headhunt Zones
Focus on Whispers within Headhunt zones. Four are active concurrently; prioritize smaller, denser zones for efficient mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these Whisper quests:
- Fugitive Shepherd: Escort animals.
- Fugitive: Defeat Elites, interact with roots to recover a head or destroy a husk.
Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers. Each Headhunt zone contains a Raven of the Tree for Favor exchange, eliminating the need to return to the Tree.
Harness Witchcraft Powers
The Tree of Whispers' Altars of Witchcraft allow purchasing and upgrading Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot (obtained from Rot enemies). Prioritize damage-boosting powers. Forgotten Altars (found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 or higher, or by using a Draught of Whispers) offer unique Witch powers.
Conquer Rootholds
Rootholds (accessed with Whispering Woods from Whispers and Silent Chests) offer a rogue-lite experience similar to Infernal Hordes. Activate negative modifiers to enhance loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot; modifiers influence quantity and quality. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.
Utilize Occult Gems
Craft Occult Gems (with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers) for jewelry slots; they outperform regular gems. Focus on these in the late game; crafting is expensive, requiring Restless Rot and Heads (dropped by Roothold bosses and Fugitives; Draughts of Whispers increase Head drop chances).
Tackle Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
