This adaptation, helmed by Castlevania's Adi Shankar and animated by the acclaimed Studio Mir (known for The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97), was initially announced in 2018. The first season will consist of eight episodes.
While plot specifics remain shrouded in secrecy, the series appears to center around Dante, likely drawing inspiration from the events of the first three Devil May Cry games rather than Devil May Cry 5. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, the voice actor behind Nero in the video game franchise.
The most recent entry in the Devil May Cry game series, Devil May Cry 5 (2019), marked a triumphant return for the franchise after a period of relative inactivity following the 2013 release of DmC: Devil May Cry. Critically acclaimed as a top-tier action game, Devil May Cry 5 is highly recommended, particularly for fans of titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2.
