NieR: Automata Resource Management: Farming Dented Plates
While some resources are plentiful in NieR: Automata, the sheer number needed for weapon upgrades can quickly deplete even the most common materials. Dented Plates, a frequently required component, can be farmed efficiently using these strategies.
Efficient Dented Plate Farming Locations
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by:
- Small Biped (all variants)
- Small Flyer (all variants)
- Small Sphere (all variants)
These basic enemies are ubiquitous throughout the game. However, relying solely on random encounters isn't the most effective method.
The optimal location is the arena where Adam is first encountered in the main storyline.
- Fast Travel: Use the Desert: Housing Complex access point.
- Navigate: Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit.
- Endless Spawning: Enemies, primarily Small Bipeds, continuously respawn, providing a consistent supply of Dented Plates. This location also yields Titanium Alloy.
Alternative Farming Locations
The Forest Kingdom offers another option, though less efficient. Groups of spear-wielding Bipeds frequently drop at least one Dented Plate. This area also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Note that higher-level Bipeds yield a higher drop rate, so progressing through the game will improve your farming efficiency.
Improving Drop Rates
Equipping drop-rate boosting plug-in chips significantly increases your yield. Remember to avoid death, as lost chips are permanent.
