Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles Adds Playable Jar Jar Binks and More!
Aspyr has unveiled a surprising new playable character for the upcoming re-release of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles on modern consoles: Jar Jar Binks! A new trailer showcases the Gungan wielding a large staff in action-packed gameplay.
This isn't the only addition to the already impressive roster. Aspyr has revealed nine other new playable characters, with more to come. The original 2000 release of Jedi Power Battles featured iconic characters and locations from The Phantom Menace, and this updated version aims to capitalize on that nostalgia. Along with features like customizable lightsaber colors and cheat code support, these new characters promise a fresh experience for returning fans.
The trailer featuring Jar Jar Binks highlights his signature chaotic style, complete with familiar voice lines. While some may have envisioned a Darth Jar Jar-esque twist, the Gungan instead uses a staff in combat. Jar Jar will be playable from launch on January 23rd, and pre-orders are now open.
