Just one month after its release and Game Pass debut, Obsidian and Xbox Game Studios released a celebratory new trailer for Avowed. The video highlights the overwhelmingly positive critical reception of this action-RPG, showcasing select reviews and quotes from gaming journalists.
This latest update brings significant performance enhancements via the integration of DLSS 4, including Multi-Frame Generation, Super Resolution, and DLAA. NVIDIA's testing demonstrated a remarkable up to threefold increase in frame rates at maximum 4K settings, reaching an impressive 340 FPS. Further announcements regarding future support and the game's roadmap are promised in the coming weeks.
Beyond the technical upgrades, this update also improves the player experience. Players now earn an extra talent point every five levels, with retroactive awards automatically granted to existing players upon loading the game. Keyboard and mouse users gain the ability to toggle between walking and running, and a new accessibility feature allows for increased font sizes in in-game text, documents, and guides.
While Avowed didn't achieve universal, silent awe from critics, it still earned strong reviews overall. Digital Foundry's praise of the game as a technical "triumph" further cements its reputation as a standout title from Obsidian.
