Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into a chilling alternate 1960s England, devastated by nuclear catastrophe. A recently released gameplay trailer offers a significant glimpse into the game's mechanics and atmosphere.
Fans of titles like Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's desolate landscape. The trailer showcases exploration of quarantine zones, abandoned villages, and mysterious research bunkers. Survival hinges on scavenging resources, crafting essential items, and facing off against hostile robots and cultists.
The gameplay, as revealed in the seven-minute trailer, blends melee and ranged combat. While the initial weapon selection appears relatively straightforward (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), the trailer emphasizes weapon upgrades and the potential for discovering additional firearms throughout the game world. Resource management is key, allowing players to craft healing items and explosive tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in uncovering hidden caches of supplies and crafting components. Character progression is driven by unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning, obtained through training manuals.
Atomfall's March 27th release will bring the game to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC platforms. Adding to the anticipation, the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to share further details in a future deep-dive video.
