Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion promises a significant amount of new content for players.
The upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in 16th-century feudal Japan, marks a significant step for the franchise, featuring dual protagonists: the Samurai Yasuke and the Shinobi Naoe. Despite high anticipation, the game's development has been plagued by delays and controversy.
The leak, originating from a since-removed Steam update according to Insider Gaming, details "Claws of Awaji" as introducing a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities. It's also claimed to add over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak follows the game's most recent delay. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, then pushed back to February 14, 2025, Assassin's Creed Shadows' release date is now set for March 20, 2025. Ubisoft cited the need for further polishing and refinement.
The delays and the leak come at a time of uncertainty for Ubisoft, with rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition swirling. This follows a period of mixed success for the company, with some recent titles falling short of expectations.
