HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 is expanding its cast with six new additions ahead of its highly anticipated premiere on April 13.

According to Variety, the new actors joining the series are Joe Pantoliano (known from Memento and The Matrix), Alanna Ubach (seen in Euphoria and Bombshell), Ben Ahlers (from The Gilded Age and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Hettienne Park (Don’t Look Up), Robert John Burke (RoboCop 3), and Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds).

These cast members will portray both characters from the original games and new additions to the storyline. Joe Pantoliano will take on the role of Eugene, a character previously seen briefly in The Last of Us Part II as Ellie and Dina’s friend. In Season 2, Eugene's role will be expanded, much like Bill's was in Season 1. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann shared with Variety that Eugene’s backstory will delve deeper into the dynamics between Joel and Ellie.

Robert John Burke will play Seth, the bar owner and bigot from The Last of Us Part II, while Noah Lamanna will portray Kat, Ellie’s former girlfriend. Alanna Ubach, Ben Ahlers, and Hettienne Park will bring to life new characters named Hanrahan, Burton, and Elise Park, respectively.

This group of new actors joins the returning cast, including Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Isabela Merced as Dina, Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, and Gabriel Luna as Tommy. The showrunners have indicated that the narrative from The Last of Us Part II will be spread across multiple seasons, promising more exciting developments as the episodes unfold.
