Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. The game uses a standard 52-card deck, and play proceeds counter-clockwise. Each player attempts to estimate the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in a round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw the same type of paper. The player who throws the matching paper last wins the "Bamh." If a player doesn't have the matching paper type, they can opt to declare "Tarneeb." "Tarneeb" papers are superior to all other paper types; the player who throws the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins unless a stronger one is played.
The round ends when all players have played their cards. Points are tallied. A team that successfully bids and wins at least the number of "Allmat" they predicted gains those points; the other team receives no points. If a team fails to reach their predicted "Allmat" count, the points are deducted from their score, and the number of "Allmat" won by the opposing team is added to their score.
If both teams achieve a "WIG 13" (winning 13 tricks) without bidding for it, 16 points are added to their total score. If a team bids and wins "WIG 13," they receive 26 points. However, if a team bids for "WIG 13" and fails, 16 points are deducted from their score.
The game concludes when one team reaches a total score of 41 or more points. That team is declared the winner.
