Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Announce Publishing Deal for Dawnwalker Saga
More Dawnwalker Details Coming Soon
The Polish studio Rebel Wolves, founded by key figures from The Witcher 3's development team, announced their publishing agreement with Bandai Namco earlier this week. Bandai Namco will handle global distribution of Dawnwalker, the studio's inaugural title, launching on PC, PS5, and Xbox in 2025.
Dawnwalker is a story-driven AAA action RPG set in a dark fantasy medieval Europe, designed for mature audiences. Further details about the game's features and story will be unveiled by Rebel Wolves in the coming months. Established in 2022 in Warsaw, the studio aims to redefine the RPG experience through immersive storytelling.
"Rebel Wolves is a unique blend of seasoned expertise and fresh creative energy," said Tomasz Tinc, Rebel Wolves' chief publishing officer, in a press release. "Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, renowned for its commitment to RPGs and its willingness to support new IPs, is the ideal partner. We share a common vision, and their track record speaks volumes. We're thrilled to collaborate with them on bringing the Dawnwalker saga to players globally."
Bandai Namco expressed its excitement over the partnership, viewing Dawnwalker as a valuable addition to their portfolio. Alberto Gonzalez Lorca, Bandai Namco's VP of business development, commented, "This marks a significant step in our content strategy for the Western market. By combining our strengths, we'll deliver this exceptional game to a global audience."
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, a veteran of CD Projekt Red and lead quest designer on The Witcher 3, leads Rebel Wolves as creative director. Jakub Szamalek, co-founder and narrative director, who also has a long history at CDPR, confirmed that Dawnwalker will be a new IP. The game's scope is anticipated to be comparable to The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, featuring a non-linear narrative.
Tomaszkiewicz shared earlier this year, "Our goal is to create an experience offering diverse choices and replayability. Collaborating with such a talented team to craft this experience is a privilege, and I can't wait for everyone to see what we've been working on."
