Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Accessing Your Snap Recap
Many apps now offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat joins the trend with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature. Unlike detailed statistical overviews like Spotify Wrapped, Snap Recap offers a more casual look back at your year. It selects a single Snap from each month, creating a fun, if somewhat random, slideshow of your 2024 memories.
What is a Snap Recap?
This is a new feature for 2024, presenting a curated selection of your Snapchat photos and videos from the year. The recap doesn't provide detailed statistics; instead, it highlights a single memory from each month. The recap seamlessly integrates with other Snapchat Memories features, allowing you to explore past memories from the same dates in previous years.
How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap:
Accessing your recap is straightforward. On the main Snapchat camera screen:
- Swipe upwards to access the Memories feature (avoid pressing the camera button).
- Locate the highlighted "Your 2024 Snap Recap" video. It's usually prominently displayed.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to begin playback. The recap plays automatically, showcasing your chosen snaps, one per month. You can tap the screen to advance through the slideshow. Like any other Snap, you can save, edit, share, or add it to your Story.
Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?
If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a gradual rollout, so yours may not be ready yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is generated. Infrequent Snapchat use might also prevent a recap from being created. Unfortunately, Snapchat support currently doesn't offer a way to request a recap if one isn't automatically generated.
