Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They BioWare delivers both good and bad news for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The game will launch without Denuvo DRM, but PC players will miss out on preloading.

Good News: No Denuvo DRM!

Bad News: No PC Preload

BioWare's Michael Gamble announced on X (formerly Twitter) that The Veilguard will skip Denuvo DRM on PC. This decision, praised by many players who often associate DRM with performance issues, means no anti-piracy software will hinder gameplay. Gamble also confirmed that the game won't require always-online functionality.

However, this no-DRM approach comes with a trade-off: no preload for PC players. With The Veilguard demanding at least 100GB of storage, this is a significant inconvenience for some. Console players, however, can preload without issue. Xbox early access players can install now, while PlayStation early access begins October 29th.

Veilguard Has No Denuvo DRM Because They BioWare also revealed the system requirements, emphasizing accessibility for a broad range of PCs while enabling ray tracing features for high-end systems. Minimum specs target broad compatibility, while maximum specs unlock uncapped frame rates and full ray tracing effects. Console players (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) will have fidelity and performance modes (30fps and 60fps respectively). For maximum ray tracing on PC, you'll need at least an Intel Core i9 9900K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, 16GB of RAM, and an Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon 6800XT graphics card.
