Texas Chain Saw Massacre Gets New Update for June 2024

Sumo Digital announces a crucial update for Texas Chain Saw Massacre, slated for release on June 25, 2024, across all platforms (console and PC). This update tackles several key issues, primarily focusing on character skill tree adjustments and bug fixes impacting gameplay, UI, and visuals.

Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sumo Digital's asymmetrical horror game inspired by the 1974 classic, pits the terrifying Slaughter family against their victims in intense 3v4 multiplayer matches. The game's chilling atmosphere and faithful recreation of the film's essence have garnered positive critical reception.

The June 25th update introduces the Hitchhiker’s Claymore outfit, a purchasable cosmetic item priced at $2.99 USD, adding a fresh visual element for players. Beyond cosmetics, significant gameplay improvements are included. The lobby cooldown system has received a performance boost, streamlining matchmaking. Several skill tree problems affecting Cook, Julie, and the recently added killer, Hands, have been addressed.

Specifically, Cook's middle skill tree path now correctly allows players to reach level 10, thanks to the addition of attribute points. Similarly, a path blockage preventing Julie from reaching level 10 has been resolved. Hands' abilities have undergone substantial adjustments. An exploit leveraging his stamina, specifically impacting his overall stamina rather than just his defensive barge stamina via the middle ability tree path, has been eliminated. His "Reduce Defensive Barge Stamina Cost" upgrades now function correctly at all tiers.

Further fixes include correcting visual errors in skill trees (incorrect node connections), resolving a UI bug that incorrectly displayed removed perks in character customization, and addressing visual glitches affecting Maria's hair and model. These improvements aim to provide a more polished and enjoyable experience for all players.
